About Us
We are Black Cats GK and our mission is to provide professional level GK coaching & make it accessible to every keeper, every ability. It is our aim to create a community of goalkeepers that are fully confident in their abilities and learn vital life skills to set them up for life. We are now coaching over 100 GK's a week which gives us a measure of the positive impact we are having. It gives us satisfaction knowing this huge amount of goalies are getting the correct guidance and support that until recently wasn't available. The future of Liverpool goalies is in safe hands!
OUR STORY
Black Cats was created in March 21 by head coach Darren McDonough. Motivated to make a change by the lack of quality GK coaching available. Darren started delivering 1-2-1 to around 5 GK's a week on a local park, quickly increasing to 24 and full diary. This further confirmed the huge need for structured quality GK coaching.

With a growing waiting list GK's were starting to miss out and left disappointed. A plan was made to create 6 per coach ratio group sessions never seen before in Liverpool. However this enabled us to keep the quality and make it affordable for GK's. This is where we appointed a second coach Matt Hodge.

From there the group sessions continued to grow at a rapid pace. Along side this the training was starting to show with numerous GK's being recognised across grassroots and many signing professional contracts/districts. Black Cats was starting to be recognised for producing technically gifted & confident GK's.

We then decided to add a create academy group for our experienced GK's to train at an even higher level and intensity with 4 per coach ratio. This again proved to be a huge success and has accelerated development massively.

We we're also the first to run a GK wars in Liverpool something brand new to a lot of keepers and give them a chance to express themselves with constant action and healthy competition.

The future of Black Cats is to continue to serve the goalies we have ensuring we have the best coaches/facilities, but continuing with our own education and being innovative. We have an up and coming GK glove brand also. There are big plans for the future and we want you to be part of it!
